Day 34

Today we entered Canada. The lady at the border crossing asked me a number of questions about where I was from, why I was entering Canada etc. But she asked no questions of Tigger. He is, of course, a famous personality, and since he is “the only one” I guess she figured he had no ill intent.

As we proceeded toward Kamloops the road we were riding went directly through the mountains. This was a real treat since the traffic was light and the scenery was, once again, spectacular. We should be in this country for a few days. The batteries were dead in my camera so no photos today. I have posted a couple from previous days.

C'on Dick we need visual. You said back on Day 2 and I quote "An assortment of chargers
One DC to AC converter in case I need to charge anything from the motorcycle
One very short multiple outlet plug so I can charge all of this stuff at once"

CHARGE THAT CAMERA WHILE RIDING!

We are depending on you just like we do the paperboy. How would you feel if there was no picture on the front page of your newspaper?

If you are getting tired, see if Tigger can drive or stop for a few days and enjoy Vancouver and then take the ferry over to Victoria.

Dick,

If you get a chance, jump on the ferry to Victoria, BC and take a ride up to Bear Mountain, as the scenery is not to be forgotten. The tulips around downtown look plastic - they are so perfect. Enjoy!

Take pictures of strategic locations, such as caves and beaver pelt trading posts. We will need that information to send back to the Pendaygone, so as when we invade Canada.

Give the impression you are just a "tourist" while in the greater service to your country.

Do we need to call in the Canadian Armed Forces to search for you? Oh, that’s right, they don’t have a military! OK, we’ll call their Commander-in-Chief, the Queen. You have not posted since Thursday morning, are you ok? We can’t contact your office today either. Perhaps you knew you wouldn’t be posting and that is why you posted Friday’s on Thursday’s. But then again, we could assume Canada does not have compatible internet service. Their dollar is better than ours today! Can you believe it? You want change? Vote Obama and that is what you’ll have in your pocket just change not even a dollar. Hope we all hear from you soon and you and Tigger are safe.

Wrangler,

Big dawg watcha up to? Our daddy doesn't know I'm on his computer. He showed me how to use it the other day but never told me U wrote me b/4. I'm no threat to U, U will luv me. I just sit or lie around and I won't eat ur food or drink ur h2o. I won't even follow U around unless U take me with U. I hope U give me a chance. I can't wait to get home as U can only take so much of listening to the same old person talk to himself as I can't hear him but don't have a heart to tell him. He has gotten quite sensitive on this trip. The cold then the hot winds gets old, the rain, the smoke, the bugs, the motels, constantly on the go, I get stuck in a plastic bag and sometimes in a black bag. He has forgotten things in our rooms I am just thankful it hasn't been me. If U can get on the computer when Mommy goes to bed im me on Yahoo messenger at littledickslongride.

I'll try to have daddy post something in the morning but he keeps telling me he is on vacation.
I hope U can get on 2night big brother. Love Tigger

Dick-I'm still jealous. The pictures make me want to jump on a plane & rendezvous with you @ some remote outpost. It sounds a lot better then one of the long distance bike rides that averaged 11 m.p.h. and you get to see a lot more scenery.I hitchhiked across Canada many years ago-very few people & lots of farms.Geoffrey

U P D A T E:

I had to call Dick on business today (Monday, July 21, 2008 around 11:30 a.m.) and he answered! He is now in Montana and promises to POST later today. He said he did not have an internet connection in Canada, and when he did, it was too slow to post.

WHEW HOO HE'S BACK IN THE U.S.A.!

So, ... what's the story, Wishbone?

Can we take these guys?

Looking forward to those pictures of strategic hockey rinks and moose tracks.

Can Montana take Canada on its own or do we have to send in some Hoosier homies to kick butoski?

I took a quarter of ROTC marching back at Evansville. And Codiano taught us to dress right dress.
